A New Marimba for the Red Devil Band
When OHHS band director Greg Richmond visited other schools and saw as many as three full-sized marimbas, he lamented the fact that the Red Devil band had not even one. "Because of the lack of an instrument for practice, our outstanding students were not even able to audition for specialized bands, including all-state."
He approached the Alumni Association Board of Directors, asking for help with the purchase of one, and was wildly surprised when the BOD voted to purchase the marimba. In a card signed by the percussionists, Mr. Richmond wrote, "Thank you for your geneerous gift and your support for our band program as well as for all that you do for our school."
