COLLINS HIGH SCHOOL CLASS OF 1957 FIFTY FIFTH CLASS REUNION A ROUSING SUCCESS
The 1957 Class of Collins High School held their fifty fifth year class reunion on Friday,
July 13, 2012 and Saturday, July 14, 2012. Registration was held at the present Collins Middle School with a pizza party in the cafeteria immediately following a tour of the old school. A dinner and dance was held at the White Oak Country Club in Oak Hill on Saturday, July 14, 2012.
Forty one classmates and guest were in attendance at the dinner and dance on Saturday.
There were twenty six classmates in attendance and fifteen spouses and guests from six different states. The Guest of Honor was former teacher and Principal Wayne Wriston and his wife Pat, a former teacher at Collins High School .
There were seventeen classmates from West Virginia , of whom fourteen currently reside in Fayette County . Other states represented were: Florida , Virginia , Ohio , North Carolina and Maryland .
Roma Lively served as Master of Ceremonies and welcomed the Class of ’57 to their 55th. year reunion. Daniel Light asked for a moment of silence in memory of the forty four deceased classmates followed by the invocation.
After the dinner the entire class sang the alma mater followed by each classmate briefly relating their life experiences since leaving high school fifty five years ago. This was followed by the distribution of door prizes of various gifts. Music for the event was provided by Mike Fox, son of classmate Bud Fox who served as the DJ.
The 2012 Reunion Committee would like to thank each and every one who worked with them to make this a very successful Reunion . A special thanks goes to Roma Lively for his hard work and organization of the Reunion .
